THE METHOD
Our method of supporting athletes is based on a mixed methods approach that examines career transition specific to the athlete and their sport. It analyzes the identity of an athlete and encompasses the process that takes place when their athletic career ends. The research shows that athletes need to prepare for their next step while they are playing their sport - not after they’ve taken their final swing. We will work together to determine your skills, and growth areas, and focus on career planning outside of your sport.
THE MEZZY ATHLETE CAREER TRANSITION
(MACT) MODEL
Our research shows that athletes who have a plan are significantly more fulfilled in life after their sport. We specialize in guiding athletes at every stage of the journey, whether you have been out of the game for years, are just starting out or you’re at the top of your game.
The transition process is much like an at-bat.
THE MISSION
To identify and understand player interests and values outside of their sport and to leverage this information to develop meaning and experiential learning in exploring life after sport. The intent is to develop personal and professional skills while harnessing transferable skills to ease the transition process.
